🕵️‍♂️ They’re Watching: How Insurance Companies Spy on Injury Victims

Think your claim is private? Think again. Insurance companies go full FBI mode once you file. Here’s how they track you — and how not to fumble your case.

1. Social Media = Evidence

Instagram post of you smiling? Facebook story from the gym?
They’ll twist that into: “See, they’re not hurt.”

They screenshot everything. Even if your account is private, mutual friends can unknowingly expose you.

Plug Rule: Post nothing. And tell your friends to stop tagging you too.

2. Surprise Surveillance

Yes, like in the movies.
They’ve been known to hire PIs to sit outside your house, film you taking out the trash, walking the dog, even limping a little less one day.

That footage becomes Exhibit A against your claim.

3. Phone Calls and "Friendly" Check-Ins

Ever get a weird call where someone seems too curious about your injuries or plans?
Adjusters may pose as someone else, or “check in” with sneaky questions. You say the wrong thing, and boom — they use it to devalue your case.

4. Medical Records Digging

They’ll pull every record they can find — even from years before the accident — to claim your injury is “pre-existing.”

Did you complain of back pain 6 years ago? Expect them to say your car crash has nothing to do with it.

What To Do:

  • Lock down your socials.

  • Don’t post. Don’t comment. Don’t engage.

  • Document your pain and recovery like a damn diary.

  • Never talk to the other insurance company without a lawyer.

  • Assume you’re being watched — and act accordingly.

🟡 Bottom Line:

If you think it’s just a paperwork game, you’ve already lost.

This is strategy. War. Money.

Be smart. Move like they’re watching — because they probably are.
And if they are? 🕵️‍♂️
